Commission Guidelines

Fee for commissions is based on size and other possible requirements, like travel or framing. For small paintings (in the range of 16 x 20, the price per square inch is $2.00. For larger paintings the price per square inch is $1.50. A 25 percent, non-refundable, retainer payment also serves as a sitting fee in the case of portraiture. With the exception of the retainer payment, all work is guaranteed. Final payments are only required when patrons accept the work. Under certain circumstances, fees are negotiable.

Subjects are invited to sit for portraits (no more than 2 hours). Reference photos are taken and paintings are finished at a later date. When a subject cannot visit the studio, reference photos can be taken in another location (fees for travel apply). Generally, I prefer my own reference photos.

Regular progress reports are made available to patrons by email, and/or in documentation on my website (password protected when requested).

Payment Arrangements and Alternative Payments

Hey, I don't mind barter when it makes sense. Payment arrangements can also be made (under certain conditions).

Art Lessons

I'm happy to provide instruction at my studio: $30 per hour. Classroom workshops start at $120. Again, fees for travel may apply.
